Inspiration

We went back to the past in order to reinvent the future. Our inspiration was Ballets Russes, the most influential ballet company of the 20th century. Its influence and success was due, in great part, to the collaboration between young choreographers, composers, designers and dancers, all of them great promises in their areas.

In 1907, Serge de Diaghilev brought together the best elements of the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater, in Paris, with artists such as Igor Stravinsky, Claude Debussy, Léon Bakst, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Natalia Goncharova, Henri Matisse and Coco Chanel.

Just like Serge de Diaghilev’s great goal – the perfect integration of a story, music, choreography and design, where the final result exceeds the individual parts – Josefinas created the Moscow edition.

Savoir Faire

We brought together the savoir-faire of master shoemakers, handmade cardboard, sculpture, the young architect Renata Oliveira and the entire Josefinas design philosophy to create one single edition.

We understood, early on, that when you create something with passion, you get amazing results.

The Box

Each box, entirely made by hand and which envelops the Josefinas, and idealized by the young architect Renata Oliveira, was inspired by the patterns of the unforgettable Ballets Russes costumes, perfectly accommodating them.

Each ballerina is painted by sacred art artists. It is the pink Swarovski crystal, on the box’s drawer, that will lead you to Josefinas Moscow.
